Ahead of the scheduled meeting of the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael of Agudas Yisrael on Tuesday, 17 Elul, the Erlau Rebbe Shlita has been asked to join the other admorim on the Torah forum. He is replacing his late father Rav Yochanan Sofer ZT”L who was niftar over half a year ago. The previous rebbe was the elder of the Torah Council.
The council’s secretary Rabbi Mordechai Stern invited the rebbe to serve on the council in place of the late rebbe. The council will be convening to discuss concerns surrounding the alarming increase in chilul Shabbos by official agencies nationwide.

How appropriate! Following in the footsteps of a gadol such as the late Erloi Rebbe zt”l must be a daunting task but the Rebbe Shlita has shown himself to be up to the challenge as he is not only a great talmid chochom but a gadol in yiras shomayim and middos. It is wonderful to see that those sons of Rebbes who are suited to join the Moetzes are immediately invited to do so.
