United Hatzalah reports that over twenty people were treated for smoke inhalation at a fire that broke out in an apartment building on Shachal Street in the Givat Mordechai neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Firefighters, MDA and United Hatzalah personnel evacuated over 20 people from the building.

MDA reports the fire occurred on the seventh floor of the ten-story structure. At least 20 people were transported to Shaare Zedek Hospital and Hadassah Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus Hospitals. B’chasdei Hashem all of the injuries were described as light.

City inspectors arrived on the scene and determined most of the apartments were undamaged and the tenants may return home. City social services personnel also operated on the scene to assist families and the many children evacuated from the structure.
