Once again, protestors arrived in Kiryat Gat to protest outside the home of HaGaon HaRav Moshe Havlin Shlita, the city’s chief rabbi and a member of the Chabad Beis Din in Eretz Yisrael.
The rabbi is under attack for being one of the signatories on the agreement signed between Chabad and the IDF by which bochrim must serve in the IDF after limud in 770 and yeshiva gevoha.
Some of the sikrikim that took part in a home invasion of the rav’s home recently were indicted.
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has recently spoken out harshly against protestors, calling on authorities to protect the rabbi and his rebitzen, who have bridged the gap as Lieberman views it, signing an agreement compelling talmidim to serve in the IDF. He warns that the attacks against the rabbi represent “crossing a red line” and persons guilty of this would be dealt with harshly.
Commando police armed with riot-control adjuncts were assigned to Sunday’s protest to maintain order.

B”H for the protesters. Hope they continue until the Yeshiva boys, who are currently in jail because of Havlin, will be released.
Arye, What are you talking about?
A few problems with this article;
1) The “sikrikim” were not indicted,one of them was judged held until the proceedings end, a process which takes many months
2)The “Rabbi” was not attacked, all the libelous claims that they invaded his home, made his wife faint from trauma are made up by him to stir up the media
BTW there are (known) some sixty boys sitting in jail because of his agreement, many more join the army and hundreds others sleep in their clothes because they have arrest warrants on theirs heads from evading the draft

Rabbi Havlin shlita made a deal according to Torah and now you think you know better??!!?? The Ravs decision was thought out according to halacha, and no gadol went out against it so far…. And then comes arye to give his psak against a Rov. Good job arye
The protesters are making a chillul Hashem. Hope they are arrested and compelled to join the IDF; after all, if they have enough time to spend protesting, they’re not learning, and if they’re not learning, they should be in the army.
#4&5 According to halachah, huh? If anyone made a chillul Hashem it’s Havlin. If you don’t know the truth, don’t talk. There’s good reason Gedolei Yisrael joined the protests.

How can one say that Rav Havlin’s psak is according to the Torah if it’s against the psak of all religious Rabonim in Israel!
Rabbi Landau of Bnei Brak and Rabbi Gedalia Axelrod of Chaifa wrote very strong letters against Havlin. They even went so far to say you can not expect any help from Havlin and cronies for the boys that are being drafted because his yeshiva in Kiryat Gat now gets a lot of funding from the goverment for sending boys to the army
