Hamas: Shalit Has Received Reasonable Medical Care

Hamas on Wednesday released a memo making reference to the conditions of prisoner Gilad Shalit. The release stated “Shalit has been held in Gaza since 2006. He has been treated well and was given reasonable medical care”. The media release added that the resistance fighters who are holding Shalit remain committed to the Geneva Convention regarding prisoners of war, insisting that Shalit is receiving enough food rations. “He is being held in a place that is clean, safe and permits preserving his dignity”.

Egyptian media reports on Wednesday signaled that talks towards obtaining Shalit’s release will resume next week between Israel and Hamas. A source reportedly ‘in the know’ added that in addition to the ongoing efforts of the German mediator, France will be entering the picture, assuming an active role. (Gilad Shalit is also a French citizen).

  1. Then they would encourage visits from either the International Red Cross or from visiting delegations that occasionally drop in on Gaza.
That they haven’t suggests they are hiding something.

  2. These are empty words. We are not doing enough to secure his release. Words from killers can never be taken literaly. R”L

Thank you, akuperma – such a groisse tzadik you are.

Do kol amYisrael a big,big favor and just keep your nose out of Israel and Israeli politics. Your remarks on the Aryeh Deri story above totally disqualify you from any comment.

  4. I think akuperma is judged to harshly.
Perhaps he should have ‘shown’ more ‘open’ compassion for hell, Shalit is obviously going through but that does not mean he approves of it.

I think he was just trying to give a point or two that shows that even among those stupid enough to think that Hamas cares about “hmaine treatment” of anyone (especially Jewish prisoners) that even they must realize that if even the Red Cross is not there visiting, then even the biggest supporter of the Hamas terrorist thugs cannot
expect people to accept their claims that they are treating him so well.

And we all know that this obviously does not excuse their kidnapping or holding him in the first place and no one (not akuperma in my opinion anyway, and not anyone else, that I see) is suggesting it does.
