Despite His Illness, The State Opposes The Early Release Of Rabbi Pinto

pintoThe state is opposed to an early release request from Rabbi Yoshiyahu Pinto, who is serving a one-year prison term in line with the plea agreement he signed with the prosecution. Rabbi Pinto has filed a request for early release with parole board officials seeking to have one-third removed from his sentence for good behavior, as is the standard practice in the prison system.

The parole board heard the rabbi’s request on Tuesday 10 Elul, and the board is yet to announce its decision. The state has expressed objections to his early release based on the fact the rav signed a plea agreement by which he is required to serve one-year imprisonment.

The rav has been diagnosed with cancer and receives chemotherapy every other week in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. He is transported back and forth by the Prison Authority from Ayalon Prison in Ramle.

  1. Pinto should be treated like any other prisoner who agreed to serve a minimum term as part of a plea agreement and not one day more or less. After all the shenanigans that kept him out of jail for so long, this crook doesn’t deserve special treatment.

  2. I know for a fact that the Rav is a TZADDIK.
If U regret what U said I can maybe find a way to have Rav mohel U. If U decide to abstain my kind offer please confirm next erev Rosh HaShanah your status. Just in case that is impossible please notify/ as of this Rosh HaShanah a close friend or relative to update us via YWN. I am just curious if such a comment stays ignored in shamayim.

  3. Gadolhatorah,

wow! I really hope hashem doesn’t judge you this cruelly on your judgement day…. which I believe is this October. Good luck katan

  4. Ms. G #1, if only you can reach a toenail of this righteous GENUINE TZADDIK who’s sitting in jail for naught SOLELY to please the corrupt kangaroo court of self appointed arrogant evil judges.
