YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Rebbitzen Miriam Feldman A”H, the wife of the late Mir Mashgiach, Hagaon HaRav Hirsh Feldman ZATZAL. She was 96-years-old.
Rebbitzen Feldman was one of the last remaining great-grandchildren of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz – and was born in the city of Sanz.
Alongside her husband the Mashgiach, they spent their lives caring for the Bochrim in the Yeshiva. The Mashigach was Niftar approximately 40 years ago, but the Rebbitzen continued in her amazing life of Chinuch, and literally devoted her entire life to Chinuch. She spent decades as a teacher in Yeshiva of Brooklyn and other girls schools, and taught thousands of girls in her lifetime.
Rebbizten Feldman displayed an incredible amount of Emunah and accepted heavenly decrees with love no matter how bad they seemed. She was always smiling and offering words of Chizuk to others despite suffering personal tragedies with the Petira of her husband, a daughter, a son, and a son-in law – all at young ages.
For many years after her husband’s Petira she lived in her home located next to the Mirrer Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway. In her later years, she lived at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Reb Leibel and Tirtza Puretz. A few years ago, she moved to Monsey where she lived until the end of her life at the home of her daughter.
Last week she suffered a stroke and was scheduled to be placed in a rehab center on Wednesday. The Ribono Shel Olam had other plans, and instead took her holy Neshama back to the heavens, leaving this world a darker place.
There is much to be written about this incredible and holy woman, who lived discreetly and without fanfare as she served as an unparalleled Mechaneches for decades as she served Hashem.
She leaves behind a Mishpacha of hundreds of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many of them well-known marbitzei Torah and machzikei Torah.
Her children are Rav Shmuel Feldman of Flatbush; Mrs Tirtza Puretz of Flatbush; Mrs Chashie Weiss A”H of Flatbush; Rav Chaim Feldman Z”L of Lakewood; Mrs Raizel Melba of Monsey, Mrs Rechel Reiner of Lakewood.
The Levaya will be held at 2:30PM in the Mirrer Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway and Avenue R. There will no Hespeidim as per her Tzavah.
The Kevurah will be in Eretz Yisroel.
Boruch Dayan HaEmmes…
