Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) reported on Monday, 9 Elul that activists were planning a massive resistance that would have prevented the uprooting of Amona. According to the report, the organizers planned to bring 15,000 people to encircle the area to prevent security forces from reaching the homes slated for evacuation.
The organizers have been gathering information pertaining to the plans and operation involving Amona in order to choreograph the resistance. This included monitoring vehicles, troop movement, military checkpoints, and more.
Speaking to radio host Tali Lipkin-Shachak, MK (Bayit Yehudi) Betzalel Smotrich announced that if the Amona evacuation moves ahead as planned, Bayit Yehudi will not vote in favor of the budget, explaining “When something is important enough to a senior coalition partner, it passes”.
