Yisrael Aryeh Leib Bachar is the chareidi bachur who has been selected to represent the chareidi population in Knesset marking the special Tu B’Shvat session. Bachar, who father is a Chabad shaliach, is from Betar Illit. His address will be part of the special session arranged by Speaker Reuven Rivlin, who decided to invite a number of youths who will be representative of a number of segments of the population.
Since elected to the post, the speaker has been making genuine efforts to restore dignity and the reputation of the Knesset, and this latest move he views will bring the dignity of the Knesset to all walks of Israeli life.
Yisrael, a son of Chabad shaliach to Givat Ze’ev Rav Chaim Bachar, has been selected as the representative of the chareidi tzibur, and he will deliver his address from the plenum next week.
Rivlin’s bureau chief, Mrs. Ravitz, the widow of the late Degel HaTorah leader Rav Avraham Ravitz z”l, was in charge of finding the young representatives for the special session. After a comprehensive search, Mrs. Ravitz decided the yeshiva bachur from Betar Illit will represent the chareidim at the special session marking the Knesset’s birthday.

seems confusing. beitar or giv’at z’ev? or does the boy not live with his father?
Dear Mr Yechiel Spira,
It is getting rather pathetic to see you repeat your mistakes time and time again. MK Rivlin’s bureau chief, Mrs Ravitz, is the daughter-in-law of the late Rabbi Avraham Ravitz zt”l NOT his wife. This lady is the wife of Rabbi Yitzchok Ravitz shlita, a councilman in Beitar.
