Rabbi Mazuz On The Establishment Of The Yachad Party

1HaGaon HaRav Meir Mazuz Shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Kisei Rachamim addressed the establishment of the Yachad party headed by Eli Yishai prior to the last Knesset elections. Rabbi Mazuz explains that as a result of the establishment of the party there are chareidi parties in the coalition today.

Speaking at a memorial for Rabbi Yoram Abarjil ZT”L, Rav Mazuz stated “If only the chareidim today understood just how much the chareidi parties must thank the Yachad party, and how much they must thank Rabbi Abarjil ZT”L”.

The rav explained that if not for Yachad, the 125,000 votes the party received would have gone to Bayit Yehudi, and this would have changed the political map, once again aligning Naftali Bennett with Yair Lapid.

  1. Harav Mazuz is very mistaken. Yachad mostly took votes away from Shas. Habayit Hayehudi lost votes to Likud, because people were scared that there was a chance that Labor would win if they didn’t vote Likud. Yachad was essentially created because many people actually agree with much of what Shas does, but they hate the fact that an egotistical criminal runs the show. Yachad gave others another option.
