Indictments for Planning a Terror Attack at Kalandia Checkpoint

Two Arabs, one a resident of the eastern capital, were indicted in the Jerusalem District Court on Thursday, charged with conspiring to perpetrate a terrorist attack at the Kalandia Checkpoint on Jerusalem’s northern border earlier in the month.

The two arrived at the military checkpoint, south of Ramallah, armed with a knife and firebombs. They phoned police anonymously in advance to inform them an attack was taking place at the checkpoint, explaining it would be a stabbing, intended to injure or kill Israeli security forces. They were apprehended by soldiers during a routine inspection at the checkpoint.

The attack was to have coincided with the day commemorating the founding of Fatah, January 1st, explaining after Israel eliminated the three Fatah terrorists murdered Rabbi Meir Avshalom Chai HY”D.
