On Wednesday night the eve of 21 Menachem Av shortly before 23:00, a security alert was declared in the southern district of Israel following credible information of a terrorist planning to strike. Police responded accordingly, activating units and setting up checkpoints in addition to increasing vigilance. Police called on citizens in the southern area to report anything and everything suspicious without any hesitation.
The alert and accompanying search for a terrorist continued through the night throughout the Greater Negev District.
On Thursday morning at about 06:00 the alert was canceled, thereby permitting police and other agencies to return to regular operating protocol.
