Experts evaluating southern Israel flood damage place the figure at NIS tens of millions, including NIS 5 million to farmers for the destruction of crops in the Har Negev and Sodom areas.

Farmers report their infrastructure in many/most cases has simply been destroyed, washed away, including hothouses and irrigation systems.

Due to the collapse of bridges and roads, many areas are simply cut off and electricity and water service have not been restored to all areas.

In the meantime, as adjusters evaluate the damage, the weatherman predicts significantly colder temperatures on Wednesday and occasional showers are expected to changeover to heavy rains throughout the country, lasting at least until Thursday.
