Rabbi Yosef [ben Gertziya] Azran, the chief rabbi of Rishon L’Tzion and a former Shas MK, remains in an intensive care unit in Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital following surgery. Since the hepatic surgery, his condition worsened and family members are urging the tzibur to be mispalel on his behalf.

Azran served in the 12th and 13th Knesset, holding the post of deputy finance minister and deputy speaker.
