The Defense Ministry issued an apology to the United States on Monday evening 4 Menachem Av, seeking to repair the damage that resulted from the harsh statement against America’s agreement with Iran.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Friday compared US President Barak Obama’s agreement with Iran to the Munich agreements of 1938. The timing is especially fragile as the Americas are in the near final stages of approving the next military aid package to Israel.

The statement released on Monday read, “In light of the mistaken meaning attributed by the media to the Defense Ministry statement on Friday, we wish to clarify: The state of Israel and the Israeli defense systems will continue to work closely with full cooperation with the US, in mutual respect and deep appreciation…”

The Foreign Ministry continues to point out that Iran is violating the agreement and continues to openly call for the destruction of the State of Israel.
