Donald Trump apparently has won over at least one member of the Bush family.
George P. Bush, the Texas land commissioner and son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, is seen on a video posted online encouraging Republicans to unite behind the Republican nominee. The Texas Tribune reports the video of Bush’s remarks was taken Saturday at meeting for state party activists.
He acknowledges that “from Team Bush it’s a bitter pill to swallow. But added: “You get back up and you help the man that won and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton.”
An early favorite in the Republican presidential race, Jeb Bush said in May that he wouldn’t vote for Trump. Former presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush have also withheld their support.

1. The son in question has a political future to consider. He’s already holding a state wide office, and will probably run for Governor or Senator in the foreseeable future. He’s already involved in national politics as head of the Republican Hispanic group (his mother is Mexican American).
2. He served in the military in Afghanistan (no other Bush’s were in combat since his grandfather was shot down in World War II). He’s probably too much of neo-con to be a libertarian, which leave him no good option other than supporting Trump.
3. The bottom line is he has no alternative but to support Trump.
If the Bush family were Jewish, would George P.’s endorsement constitute a breach of the 5th Commandment?
#2- At this point, neither George P.’s father nor grandfather have endorsed anyone (an uncle who has never held public office is supporting the Libertarians). In any event, children aren’t required to vote for whomever their parents want. As George P. is now the “senior” Bush involved in politics, he is expected to follow through and keep the family business running – and to endorse a non-Republican would be fatal in his career. To win the White House (2024 perhaps), George P. will have to keep the Trump faction, add on Hispanics, and get the conservatives and neo-cons on board.
by the way, is that George P. up there? that really looks like Jeb to me..couldn’t find a pic of the man behind the video in question?
