Bayit Yehudi party leader Naftali Bennett, who is abroad, is under fire for releasing a message to the media while it was Shabbos in Israel. On Friday night, well after Shabbos began in Israel, Bennett decided to use his twitter account to respond to a Channel 10 News report pertaining to his actions during Operation Protective Edge.
Bennett explained that he is abroad and while Shabbos hasn’t begun, he cannot respond to the report because of maris ayin and that it is Shabbos in Israel.
His tweet made the rounds, commenting based on a report aired on Shabbos, which some feel caused more Chilul Shabbos. They add Bennett’s actions were inappropriate at best for the leader of a religious party and he should have waited until motzei shabbos.

Al pi Halacha he did nothing wrong. People are always calling from EY and visa versa and leave messages when its still Shabbos in those receiving place.
I strongly dislike Bennet but this can’t be an issue other than mere hatred. It’s a non-issue!
