United States National Security Advisor James Jones was in Israel this week, for three days, but the visit was kept confidential. The senior US administration official met with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and National Security Advisor Prof. Uzi Arad.
It appears Jones discussed concerns regarding Iran, as well as America’s desire to jumpstart diplomatic talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority). What is being reported following the visit is that Israel is not opposed to re-launching indirect talks with the PA, negotiations that will be handled by an American mediator.
