The Knesset Science & Technology Committee in a joint session with the Knesset Committee for Child Welfare, discussed the hot topic (pun intended) of leaving children behind in parked cars. What was unheard of a few short years ago now appears to be a Heavenly decree in today’s society as it occurs in modern nations around the world, all too often resulting in an disastrous outcome R”L.
Maklev announced that within a month, the Ministry of Transportation will announce new guidelines addressing this worrisome trend.
Maklev feels the situation today if far better than two months ago vis-à-vis public awareness to the matter. He feels that a plan which includes kindergartens and daycare centers will significantly contribute to reducing the number of incidents of children forgotten in vehicles and a plan will be presented in the coming two weeks in educational institutions in addition to continue developing electronic and high-teach solutions to be installed in vehicles and child car seats.
