Israel’s first stealth fighter, a Lockheed Martin F-35 “Adir”, took its maiden flight, passing all of the tests with flying colors. The flight, which lasted some 20 minutes, is the first operation of an Israeli stealth aircraft since the plane was formally “delivered” to Israel at a ceremony in Fort Worth, Texas in June. The plane is one of two aircraft which are scheduled to be delivered to Israel by December 12, 2016.

F-35 is a flying lemon. I have been following development and testing of this aircraft for some time. It is probable the most expensive and the worst military jet ever designed. F-35 may make executives at Lockheed Martin and members of congress together with Pentagon contractors very wealthy but America and Israel very unsafe.
#1- It’s not very maneuverable in a dogfight and has been plagued by glitches but it has certain abilities that the IDF desires and Israel has been given the unique permission to install its own systems on its F-35s. I don’t see it replacing Israel’s fleet of F-16s any time soon but they are better suited than anything in the current arsenal to certain missions and will be a welcome addition, after being retrofitted by the IDF.
