Tel Aviv high school principal Ram Cohen, who is accused of inciting his students against the IDF, encouraging them to refuse orders, since according to Mr. Cohen, the IDF has been “brutally crushing values” for decades, has met with senior Education Ministry officials to explain his remarks.

YWN-Israel earlier in the week reported that the principal in talks with his students encourages insubordination, prompting Yisrael Beitenu MK Alex Miller to demand action against him, as was done with Rabbi Eliezer Melamed of Yeshivat Har Bracha.

Basically, the principal did not apologize or issue a retraction, but emphasized he is part of the nation’s educational system and realizes he must comply with the dictates of this system, boasting his commitment to inculcating his students with values of democracy and involvement in the political community.
