The Knesset late Tuesday night 14 Tammuz passed a bill into law permitting the Knesset to vote out a colleague if the latter is viewed as being racist or openly anti the State of Israel and/or supporting terror.
The bill was backed by 62 MKs and opposed by 47 following a stormy debate the preceded the vote. There was much shouting and finger pointing from members of the coalition and opposition, but finally, the bill was voted upon and pushed through by the coalition.
According to the new law, the Knesset may vote out a MK with a minimum of 90 of the 120 MKs voting in favor, including at least ten votes from the opposition.

Such a law will be very useful if at some point in time they need to kick out the Hareidim (when they get serious about conscription and closing down yeshivos) or the Religious Zionists (such as when they are giving up the West Bank and forcing all settlers to give up their homes).
It sounded so good, until I got to the end – “a minimum of 90 of the 120 MKs voting in favor, including at least ten votes from the opposition.”
I thought maybe they can finally oust Zoabi and any other openly anti-state MKs. But that majority is not so easy to get. In this vote for example, only 109 total votes were received. Then there are a few Arab MKs who might side with Zoabi.
I guess we will see.
