Much has been written about Israel’s ailing Postal Authority, a service that seems to be on a steady decline. About a year ago, MK Uri Maklev spoke of the Postal Authority in Knesset, addressing the need for vast improvement, citing the unacceptably long lines and a chronic lack service. Little has improved since his address in Knesset.
According to a report released by the State Ombudsman’s Office, the public filed 15,000 complaints against government agencies in 2015. The largest number of complaints were filed against Bituach Leumi (National Insurance Agency), 1,231 in number. In second place is the Israel Postal Authority with 709 complaints, of which 70% were deemed justifiable.
26.2% of the complaints filed in 2015 addressed poor service to the public, 9.2% for government agencies lagging in making payments to the public, and 8.5% pertaining to social services, health and rehabilitation.
