Chai Lifeline Thanks U.S. Customs ‘Super-Hero’ Chief

sEvery summer, a number of Camp Simcha campers fly into NY from Israel. Under the circumstances, it is extremely difficult and uncomfortable for the children to travel such a long distance. Each year, the airport is kind enough to arrange for a bus to take the kids straight off the airplane so they do not have to walk through the airport. This is not a simple favor, it requires a lot of work getting clearance.

This year, The Deputy Chief of U.S. Customs, Clary, (picture attached) Told Chai Lifeline he will go out of his way to make it as comfortable as possible for the children.

U.S. Customs went above and beyond. They opened a room across from the gate for customs, and from there the kids went straight onto a bus. Clary carried the children from the room, onto the bus (pictured above) along with the help of Supervisor Sinclair who carried a wheelchair down the steps onto the bus.

Supervisor Sinclair was so incredibly moved by our campers, he came to visit them the next day up in Camp Simcha.

Thank you to Ronni Mann of El Al for making this happen, and thank you to our superheros over at the U.S. Customs at JFK, especially Clary and Sinclair.
