Minister of Sport & Culture (Likud) Miri Regev is scheduled to travel to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, which is scheduled to open in the coming weeks. Her entourage includes security and other personnel.
According to a Channel 10 News report, Regev was unable to secure a ticket for the games for her husband, which by the way she was paying for privately. She informed her Shin Bet security agent he would not enter the games, permitting her husband to use the ticket in his place. However, the Shin Bet would not permit her to see the games without the security agent, so for now, her husband is going to be left behind.
If the request would have been accepted by the Shin Bet, the security agent would have flown to Rio but would have been compelled to remain outside the stadium waiting for her.
