New York City Councilman David G. Greenfield secured $300,000 in new funding for Hatzolah, helping to ensure that a crucial neighborhood program will continue to have the ability to provide outstanding service for area residents.
“Hatzolah is a truly remarkable organization,” Greenfield said. “It’s a worldwide community service organization that does outstanding work wherever it operates, and it all started right here in Brooklyn. I’m thrilled that I was able to fund them again this year.”
The funding will be used to provide new ambulances for the organization, which is an all-volunteer corps of a trained medics who can respond to emergencies at a moment’s notice.
“Hatzolah helps ease the burden on our busy 911 centers and ensures that the residents of our neighborhoods can get the aid they need in a timely manner,” Greenfield said.
Hatzolah’s average response time in Boro Park is under 4 minutes during daytime hours, and 7-8 minutes at night.
Greenfield has long been a supporter of Hatzolah.
In June, he attended a fundraising auction for the organization where he spoke about the importance of Hatzolah’s operations.
