The Shin Bet Spokesman’s Office announced on Monday 28 Sivan that police and IDF units cooperating with the Shin Bet arrested PA (Palestinian Authority) residents who played a role in assisting the terrorist who perpetrated the Sarona Market Complex terror attack last month. Four people HY”D were murdered and 15 injured in that attack.
Two suspects, Muhammed Muhamra and Haled Muhamra, both 21 and residents of Yata, were taken into custody. Muhammed is a supporter of ISIS who studied in Jordan and returned to Yata in 2016. According to the investigation, the two decided to perpetrate an attack for ISIS without having been officially inducted into the terror organization and without assistance from ISIS as they were greatly inspired by ISIS.
As a result of the investigation into the attack, agents arrested Yinus Moussa Zin, 22, also a Yata resident, who admitted to investigators that he planned the attack with others but he did not take part in the actual attack due to technical reasons. He admitted to assisted the terrorists in obtaining the Karl Gustav assault rifle used in the attack.
He told interrogators the plans for an attack began in January 2016, and the actual target, Sarona Market, was selected randomly on the day of the attack after deciding to scrap plans to attack passengers on a train.
They crossed the Green Line in the Metzudat Yehuda in the S. Hebron Hills area via a hole in the security barrier. Two were assisted by 23-year-old Salim Mugnam, yet another Yata resident who was arrested for driving them to the area after they crossed into Green Line Israel. They arrived at Segev Shalom and waited in an apartment for a number of hours, an apartment used by PA illegals. From their they organized and headed to Tel Aviv.

Ten residents of Yata were also detained on suspicion of involvement in manufacturing and trafficking in weapons and in transporting the terrorists into Israel.
