Golani soldier Private Mor Cohen of Afula was killed during a training mishap on a military base on Monday. A soldier taking part in an urban warfare training exercise fired his weapon, and the bullet killed 19-year-old Mor z”l. The incident took place in a northern area training facility near the Syrian border.

The bullet penetrated the wall of the building and struck Mor in his head, who was standing outside next to another soldier. The preliminary investigation into the tragic incident does not point to negligence. He became the fifth IDF soldier killed in a training accident this year.

IDF officials add the building in which the exercise using live gunfire took place, a simulated Arab town, was inspected and found in good order five months ago.

Levaya will take place today, Tuesday, at 2:00pm, in the Afula Military Cemetery.
