Representatives of the families of Lt. Hadar Goldin and Sgt. Shaul Oren on Sunday morning 20 Sivan called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu not to sign a deal renewing diplomatic ties with Turkey before the bodies of their sons are returned by Hamas.

Oren’s father explained to the media the renewal of diplomatic ties with Turkey is another opportunity to negotiate the return of the bodies and it would be a waste not to include this in the deal.

Oren and Goldin were killed in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge and their bodies were taken by Hamas via the vast tunnel network.

At the start of the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday morning, PM Netanyahu told the media regarding the reported imminent deal with Turkey, “There is a lot of misinformation and disinformation regarding the possible agreement that is being formulated with Turkey and therefore I would like to make it clear: We are continuing our constant efforts, both open and in secret to bring back to Israel Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, may their memories be blessed, and also the two Israelis being held in Gaza. We are in continuous contact with the families and we will neither rest nor be silent until we bring the boys back home”.
