The pediatric emergency room in Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital became busy on Wednesday night the eve of 17 Sivan as 13 toddlers who attended the same simcha earlier arrived for medical care. According to the parents, they were all at the same family simcha and all of the children then complained of stomach pain and some were vomiting, pointing to possible food poisoning.
After diagnostic testing and treatment, six of the children were admitted and the remainder were released. A probe revealed the children ate food that was not properly refrigerated.
Hospital officials once again alert the tzibur to be particularly vigilant during these hot summer days, citing certain foods, such as eggs, are particularly sensitive to high temperatures.
