Mendelsohn’s Pizza is proud to announce their introduction into both C&S and White Rose, two of the countries’ largest mainstream food distributors. Mendelsohn’s makes several delicious varieties of frozen pizza, as well as a complete line of Italian meals like baked ziti, eggplant parmesan, lasagna, and more. The marketing firm behind these moves is Marketrend, Ltd. The firm, led by CEO Meyer Futersak is one of the leading marketing firms driving the burgeoning mainstream acceptance of kosher food products.
C&S Wholesale Grocers is the 2nd-largest food wholesaler, and the 12th largest privately-held company in the US, according to Forbes. Their distribution network serves nearly 4,600 stores from 50+ locations in 11 states. Just some of their customers are: Sop & Shop, Giant of Carlisle, Giant of Landover, Shaw’s, A&P, Ralph’s, Safeway and Target. White Rose Food is the largest independent food wholesaler and distributor in the New York City metropolitan area, with 1,200 employees serving 1,500+ stores in five states. Additionally, Marketrend also helped Mendelsohn’s get picked up by Kings Supermarkets, one of the east coast’s leading upscale supermarket chains.
JR Mendelsohn is President of Mendelsohn’s Foods, and is very happy about these recent moves: “Meyer [CEO of Marketrend] has helped us enter into a new space of business that will take our products mainstream and national. We are very excited about the opportunities that will result with our introduction to Kings.” An increasing number of companies have been making similar moves. Mendelsohn’s sentiment is echoed by Melody Sutton, Owner of Sutton Services: “Working with Meyer Futersak and Marketrend has been an absolute pleasure. He has repeatedly helped us break into retail chains and maintain a positive growth progression.”
Based in Cedarhurst, NY, with contacts regionally, nationally, and worldwide, Marketrend, Ltd helps kosher companies expand into the mainstream market—with an astounding success rate. Their services include: Sales Consulting Services, Grassroots Marketing Strategies, Media Relations & Events, Branding Solutions, Editorial & Writing Services, Product Launches and more.
For almost four decades, Mendelsohn’s was an institution in the neighborhood of Boro Park, Brooklyn. Founded in 1969 by Rabbi Mayer Mendelsohn, it began as a storefront shop with no seats, and grew to become the tri-state’s largest pizzeria, with a seating capacity of 175, and over 100 menu items. Today, lines regularly stretch out the door. However, when it came time to branch out and market their newest creation, Kosher frozen pizza, the Mendelsohn’s were having trouble. They were well known in the NY metropolitan area, but were not breaking through to regional or national success—until they consulted with Marketrend—and the rest is history.

YWN is playing both sides. First was the article, “HEALTH: Write It Down!”, and now an article about completely worthless junk food devoid of any redeeming nutritional value but chock full of calories and cholesterol. The other day was a “coming out” celebration for kosher Tootsie Rolls! No, sir, there are no editorial biases on this web site!
Will their products be sold at all of the listed chain-stores throughout the country?
“completely worthless junk food devoid of any redeeming nutritional value”
Totally untrue. Pizza contains elements of the three food groups diary, vegetables and grain all of which contain essential nutrients and are part of a healthy diet. It compares very favorably to brisket and potato kugel.
If you’re going pack away a whole pizza 3 times a day your statement might have some standing.
#3 — Your scientific analysis leaves me breathless, and in pain from laughing so hard.
1, you really need to take a chill pill or a tootsie roll!
