Rav of Ramot Rabbi Shlomo Neiman Shlita along with other rabbonim and askanim are turning to Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat with a request to open a school for girls in the chareidi sector in the neighborhood.
The letter dated 26 Iyar was sent to the mayor, Deputy Mayor Tzvika Cohen and Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush requesting assistance towards opening such a school.
They explain they are speaking on behalf of 400 girls who live in Ramot Bet along with letters from other rabbonim in the neighborhood. They are hopeful this can be accomplished for the next school year. They point out in addition, there are 440 Beis Yaakov students and they are all compelled to travel to another area because there is no school for them.
The letter is signed by over 400 people, asking to build a school to permit all of these girls to remain in the community and avoid traveling elsewhere.
