B’chasdei Hashem, one of the wounded in the Sarona Market Complex terror attack in Tel Aviv will be released from Ichilov Hospital in the coming days with one of the two bullets that struck his head lodged behind his ear. Four people HY”D were murdered in the attack that left about 16 others wounded, including Assaf Bar.
Bar was hit twice in his head and was brought into the hospital in very serious condition. Doctors are calling his recovery “miraculous” as he is set to leave the hospital this week, conscious and alert. Chief of Neurosurgery Professor Tzvika Ram calls Assaf “very lucky” for having escaped major or permanent injury.
The medical team has decided that a bullet lodged behind the 27-year-old Haifa’s resident’s ear does not pose a danger and they are leaving it in. the second bullet also hit behind the ear and B’chasdei Hashem has been removed. The bullet was lodged in his head but Assaf did not suffer and neurological impairment as a result of the injuries or surgery.
Assaf’s friends add that his mom was niftar a few weeks ago. He had taken care of her while she fought her illness for two years.
Assaf is experiencing headaches and some hearing loss but doctors expect he will be making a total recovery and continue his life without and impairment resulting from the two bullets that struck his head.
