Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has appointed Sharon Shalom, 41, as the ministry’s chief of staff. Shalom is not a newcomer to Lieberman, having served as his chief of staff when Lieberman was Foreign Minister from 2009-2015.

Shalom has also headed senior positions in the private sector, including companies with international dealings.

Shalom is married and the father of four. Lieberman praises him as being extremely skilled and one who has shown dedication to the nation and other ministers with whom he is in contact.
