Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein during a meeting with senior Israel Police commanders expressed support for lifting the eight-month ban on Members of Knesset visiting Har Habayis. It appears the request is being made to accommodate Israeli Arab MKs wishing to visit the holy site during Ramadan which began this week.

Edelstein expressed support for permitting MKs to once again visit Har Habayis if the area remains quiet until the third week of Ramadan. Then, if police approve the move, the Arab MKs will resume visitation followed by Jewish MKs.

Police officials have not expressed an opinion regarding the resumption of visits by MKs to the holy site.
