Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked Accuses Haaretz Of Incitement

1In a bold move, Haaretz columnist Uri Misgav referred to Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg “violates the law” because he lives in a yishuv over the Green Line. He is backed by the left-wing newspaper’s publisher, Amos Schocken, who explained to the media that based on international law the label is indeed correct. Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked on Erev Shabbos accused the newspaper of “being a mouthpiece for incitement”.

Misgav expressed criticism of the High Court but focused on Solberg, explaining “there is no way else to put it other than he is a resident of the West Bank”.

Yesh Atid leader MK Yair Lapid tweeted that he backs the Justice Minister’s position in this case but Schocken explained that he backs Misgave, simply explaining his position is in line with international law and the international community’s view of the settlements.

One is reminded that recently, attorney Yossi Cohen, who is defending Mrs. Sara Netanyahu against charges of irregularities in running the Prime Minister’s Residence, was admonished by the Israel Bar. Cohen spoke out harshly, criticizing a Jerusalem Labor Court justice, telling Channel 2 News the court did not act appropriately.

At the time of this report, the Israel Bar Association is yet to speak out to condemn Haaretz for referring to a Supreme Court Justice as a violator of the law for being a resident of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion.

The opinion piece in question is entitled “The Israeli Justice Who Violates International Law Every Time He Comes Home”. http://www.haaretz.com/opinion/.premium-1.724182 In that same article he refers to the Chief Rabbinate of Israel “The country’s most corrupt and ruthless monopoly”.

  1. This kind of Behaviour is Equivalent to, and on Par with Burning the grain supplies in Jerusalem with the Romans at the Gate.
You are not a Hero for Burning the Grain, as You would not be a Hero for Refusing to Pay a Bribe to Save Others Lives.
