Good chance you or your child spent a Shabbos in Camp Nageela in Fallsburg NY! It is a  favorite location for Shabbaton and Shabbos Hisvadus. Each Shabbos throughout the year Camp Nageela hosts a yeshiva group, a Bais Yaakov group or a kiruv and chizuk group. They come because, in the words of a yeshiva menhal, ” If these walls could speak, the stories of aliya they would tell would be incredible.” The very place seems to have a power to inspire young people to grow in Avodas Hashem.

From where does this power come? Possibly,  it is planted by the summer occupants of Camp Nageela.  During the summer, about 200 public school students spend 4 weeks living together with over 100 Frum young staff. They learn about Torah by living the life. Then they work on integrating what they learn into their lives at home.

Perhaps the power comes from Jesse, who two years ago was in public school and was just accepted to Mesivta high school. Or from Dana who was a public school student until high school and is headed to seminary in Yerushalayim next year. Or Avraham,  who was a public school student as a child. He now learns in Kollel and volunteers several times during the month to teach Torah to children who have experiences similar to his childhood.

Perhaps these, and hundreds of similar stories, are the secret power built into the campus that powers the aliya that you or your child might have experienced while staying in Camp Nageela.

Today, an online x4 matching campaign is going on to fund the programs. The entire outreach program behind Camp Nageela is run by JEP of Long Island. Today, JEP/Nageela is asking people who care for all of Klal Yisroel to give so that a Jewish child  can discover Torah. The campaign is called 4 Hashem. You can donate at  jepli.org/4Hashem

Please answer the call that goes through the ages. “Who is 4 Hashem?”
