Health Minister Yaakov Litzman has spoken out against Rami Sadan, the newly-appointed Chairman of the Board of Channel 10 News. Earlier on Rosh Chodesh Sivan, Shas leader Minister Aryeh Deri called for Sadan’s dismissal as he is quoted making racist comments about Sephardim, Shas and Deri.
Litzman stated, “Using epithets against and entire population is a dangerous phenomenon that causes incitement between people and communities. We must prevent this and it is our duty to bring people closer”.
He added “Deri’s contribution to Am Yisrael and his holy work for the Torah world does not require proof and I hold his hand in support against the slanderous comments against him”.
Litzman concludes “Mr. Sadan should be required to retract the serious statements attributed to him for there is no place for his words in a civilized community”.
Bayit Yehudi leader Minister Naftali Bennett also spoke out against Sadan, stating if the remarks attributed to him are true, it is a major embarrassment.
