A lot of people were breathing a sigh of relief on Wednesday night after an AirTran passenger jet aborted a takeoff at LaGuardia Airport. No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration said Flight 206 bound for Akron, Ohio, with 114 passengers onboard, was about to take off when the pilot noticed the engine light go on.
The incident happened at around 9:35 p.m. The Boeing 717 was on runway 13 when the engine light went on, forcing the pilot to stop the plane as emergency crews raced to the scene. There was no fire and the plane was towed back to the gate.
The passengers were transferred to other flights.

Earth-shattering.
bottom story of the day
it is. LGA has short runways which extend into the water, so the fact that the pilot was able to stop is a story.
