Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Secretary-General Ahmed Sadat’s request for improved prison conditions has been rejected by prison officials. Sadat, who is serving a 30-year sentence for his role in the assassination of Tourism Minister Rechavam Ze’evi, requested to be permitted to mingle with other prisoners.
Prison officials rejected the request, explaining his separation if a matter of state security.
Arab sources report that despite Israeli denials, Sadat is indeed among the prisoners who will be released by Israel is an upcoming Shalit prisoner exchange deal.
