While Mr. Noam Shalit tells the media he unaware of any official developments in efforts to obtain his son Gilad’s release, he is undoubtedly aware of the increasingly optimistic media reports of Gilad’s imminent release, prompting him to come to Knesset on Monday to begin lobbying ministers for their support of a prisoner exchange deal.

Mr. Shalit told reporters on Sunday that despite the media reports, the family has not received and news, adding he is unaware from where these reports are emanating and unable to vouch for their integrity.
