PM’s Brother-in-Law: Get Out if You Can’t Take the Pressure

Dr. Chaggai Ben-Artzi, a brother-in-law of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, sent the prime minister a sharp letter in light of increasing media reports of an impending deal for the release of Gilad Shalit, a deal that would result in the release of hundreds of murderous terrorists.

Ben-Artzi calls on Mr. Netanyahu to get out if he cannot take the pressure, advising him to step down prior to signing such a deal that would result in the release of the murderers.

He adds “I pray the rumors of such a deal are untrue”, calling on Mr. Netanyahu to avoid making such a tragic error and bringing this difficult decree with its accompanying consequences on the nation’s bereaved families. He mentioned the prime minister’s inability to stand up to pressure during his first term in office, when he released Hamas leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin to obtain the release of two Mossad agents apprehended in Jordan [following a botched attempted assassination of Hamas politburo chief Khaled Meshal]. The release of Yassin permitted him to lead the terror organization into the Second Intifada, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of innocent Israelis.

Ben-Artzi also mentioned that in his capacity as Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, the prime minister spoke out against the Jibril agreement, which resulted in the release of hundreds of terrorists.

“Sorrowfully, you are partially responsible for the deaths of hundreds, and the thousands of injured, from the Second Intifada. Do not make the same big mistake a second time”.
