Addressing the Saban Forum on motzei shabbos, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned a retreat to the pre-June 1967 borders would not result in peace but have an adverse affect, bringing the conflict close and enhancing the ties between the Israeli Arab community and residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas.
The senior minister stated the establishment of a Palestinian state will not bring peace, warning that doing so would lead to Israeli Arab citizens in the Negev and Galil regions demanding autonomy.
Lieberman has been an outspoken opponent of Oslo, stating today, over 16 years after the agreement was signed, it is clear to all that is has been a colossal failure, bringing terror and death and audible calls for Israel’s destruction from her enemies.
