Speaking to Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Monday 15 Iyar, Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Dahan cited that to his dismay, former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon during recent months kept him in the dark. He cited he was not summoned for security briefings and was not kept apprised on the situation despite ongoing terror attacks in areas of Israel.
Ben-Dahan expressed bewilderment over Ya’alon behavior, explaining the two got along well on a personal level and as far as his Bayit Yehudi party goes, the party often came out publically to defend the senior minister when he came under attack. He added that he is hopeful that Ya’alon’s successor will include him in the ministerial responsibilities as should be the case.
The coalition agreement placed responsibility for the Civil Administration in Yehuda and Shomron in Ben-Dahan’s hands but this too was ignored by Ya’alon, who often acted contrary to Ben-Dahan’s policies in this area.
