It appears that Avigdor Lieberman is completing a deal that will make him the nation’s next Defense Minister, replacing Moshe Ya’alon. A poll commissioned by Walla News conducted by Professor Camil Fuchs shows most Israelis prefer Ya’alon as Defense Minister over Lieberman.

The poll was conducted on Wednesday 10 Iyar with respondents asked “Who do you think is better suited to be Minister of Defense?”

50% Ya’alon

29% Lieberman

21% undecided

606 respondents participated in the poll including 500 Jews and 105 from the Arab sector.

Among Jews; 53% believe Ya’alon is more suited as opposed to 34% for Lieberman. Among Arabs; 36% voted for Ya’alon with only 10% backing Lieberman. 54% responded that they have no opinion on the matter.
