British diplomatic officials in Israel deny reports that the government is conducting a dialogue with Hamas representatives. The official was responding to reports quoting a “British official” that Hamas is part of the problem, and therefore, must be part of the solution.

British Embassy in Israel spokesman Rafi Shamir released a statement that Britain is not maintaining a dialogue with Hamas, adding there are no plans to enter into such an arrangement.

“Hamas is indeed part of the problem, but to date, has not exhibited any sign that it is capable of being part of the solution”.
