4:10PM EST: The life of an on-duty New York State Trooper was just taken following a serious collision in Greene County, NY.
Sources tell YWN that the trooper was driving on Route 32 (in the Town of Catskill) at approximately 3:00PM when he was involved in a serious collision with another vehicle. It is unknown if the Trooper was responding to an emergency call. The name of the trooper has not yet been released pending proper family notifications.
He was a four-year veteran of the NYSP.

UPDATE: Today at 2:25 PM, Trooper David Lane, 30 years of age, and a four-year member of the State Police who worked out of the State Police Catskill station was killed in an automobile collision.
Trooper Lane was traveling northbound in his patrol vehicle on State Route 32 in the Town of Catskill, when he attempted to pass another northbound vehicle. The vehicles made contact and Trooper Lane’s vehicle drove off the roadway and struck a telephone pole.
State Route 32 has been shut down in both directions to allow for emergency response and investigation.
Additional details of the investigation will be released as they are discovered.
