For the Women of the Wall organization it appears compliance with the law is superseded by the organization’s determination to continue with its provocative activities at the Kosel. This was the case on Monday morning, 1 Iyar, as the women participated in their own birchas Kohanos.
Police and border police were on hand and used force against those who decried the actions of the women including Moti Dan of Yeshivat Ateret Kohanim. This despite the fact the actions of the women were in violation of the recent ruling by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.
Mandelblit announced his decision before the planned Chol Hamoed Pesach Birchas Kohanos, accepting the position presented by Kosel Rav Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita, who ruled the planned event is not in line with ‘minhag hamakom’ in addition to citing there is no religious significance to women conducting themselves in such a fashion. This resulted in the Ministry of Religious Services banning the event on chol hamoed.
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Yitzchak Pindrus announced if this disgrace is not halted before the next rosh chodesh, all bnos yisrael and Am Yisrael will have to come to the Kosel to protest against it.
The Women of the Wall explain that regarding the letter from the Ministry of Religious Services prohibiting the Birchas Kohanos on Pesach, the event on Rosh Chodesh is not the same as on Chol Hamoed Pesach since there is not machlokes regarding the former as opposed to the latter.

Just leave these misguided women alone and let them pursue their own “hashkafah”. All this media focus just makes them want to expand their activities. We should be happy they want to engage in some aberration of torah based yiddeshkeit rather than going totally OTD.
I don’t understand. They don’t care about Torah. They only want to copy men. What difference does it make to them what they do? Why not do an Indian Rain Dance or best African drums? Why do they dafka have to copy Torah men?
Obviously, because they want to antagonize. I think next up, they should give themselves a “britta”, female bris. They want to be like men, so do it all!
Do they trace their Kehuno lineage through their mother? or through their father?
So who do they consider a Cohen ?The daughter of a Cohen or the wife of a Cohen?
These women are OFF the wall.
WOW are an insult to Israel. arrest them and then deport them after their passports are confiscated.
