Zaka Called In To Prevent Another Cremation R’L

zakaOnce again the experts in Zaka’s legal division have been called upon to prevent the cremation R”L of a Jewish niftar.

This case addresses a woman who died childless during Chol Hamoed Pesach. As the family began thinking about burial arrangements it was learned that she had a will that was signed by an attorney and notarized, stating she wishes to be cremated. Another will found by the family she asks to be buried, even detailing the inscription for her matzeivah. This will was handwritten.

The head of the organization’s legal division, attorney Dror Schussheim entered the picture and brought the matter to a court in an effort to prevent cremation. Using his expertise and with Siyata Dishmaya, after a few hearings another hearing was heard to include the attorney who signed the will that called for cremation. However, Schussheim simultaneously continued working behind the scenes with the family and before the hearing with the other attorney took place, all the family was on board and the decision was made to bury the woman instead of cremation.
