Rabbi Ariel Igra, a son of Dayan Rav Eliezer Igra Shlita, who was appointed to the Chief Rabbinate Supreme Beis Din this week, announced his father would not be backing rabbonim who identify with Tzohar Rabbonim. The appointment of Rabbi Igra, who is a member of the dati leumi community, worried some who feared his hashkafa might be aligned with the liberal dati leumi stream.

Rabbi Ariel Igra, the mora d’asra of Yishuv Shlumit, explained that while his father identifies with the dati leumi community, the heads of the chareidi tzibur have nothing to worry about for he does not back the hashkafa of Tzohar, which are not accepted by Gedolei Yisrael. Rabbi Ariel Igra made his remarks in an interview with Kikar Shabbos News.
