According to Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Dr. Gabriella Shalev, an internal probe into Operation Cast Lead by Israel will not make the problem disappear, explaining to a Israel Democracy Institute forum that the momentum against Israel is unprecedented, and an internal inquiry will not result in the matter dropping from the political arena.

“We are seeing a murky wave against the State of Israel the likes of which has not been seen in many years” warned the ambassador, who also expressed criticism for Israel’s poor handling of explaining itself and the actions of the nation in the counter-terror operation. She stated the Goldstone Report does not represent an unbiased fact-finding effort, but an Israel-bashing one-sided document that fails to correctly present true facts.

She is calling for a major diplomatic effort, adding the nation must learn that we do not necessarily need to launch a boycott against those who oppose us, and we should not be afraid of a probe since the facts speak for themselves.
